You are constantly creating your own timeline, the course you take in the your journey of life. It’s your basic essence. The nature of being alive is having the ability to chart your own course through the greater overall Mystery.
Before you arrived here in current human form, you created the conditions for your journey. You were very clear on the type of life you wanted to live and the primary circumstances that would surround you on this adventure in human form. I know it seems random when we look at it from this perspective, but from the other side the pieces to the puzzle all fit.
Think of it as the run on a ski hill. You are poised on the top of the mountain with your skis (or snowboard) ready to launch down the slope. The hill – the situation and life conditions of your journey – are in place before you, created before you even began. The run is designed to offer the perfect challenges you want to experience in this particular adventure.
Now how are you going to ski that run?
You can go slowly and carefully down the easiest runs of the mountain. You can be more daring and try the intermediate routes. You can get stuck in icy patches or end up in the rocks. There can be falls, wipeouts, and spectacular crashes. But you can also have a sweet ride through the trees in the powder or launch down an epic back country face.
So many options exist on the route you can take, but as you look back, there is only one set of tracks in the snow.
We can live our life many ways given the same conditions. We make choices every day that effect our overall path and direction we take skiing down the mountain of our life.
That path is your “timeline” and it was created by your own intentions, will, and choices you made along the way. You can look back at the tracks you have made so far, and you can also look ahead at where you are going next because you can change that path any time you like.
You are not stuck in the icy patches or on the bunny slope. Just because you had a fall, doesn’t mean you can’t brush off the snow and give it another go – maybe find a softer run in the fluffy snow that won’t hurt as much when you fall the next time.
You’re not done yet, and you learn as you go and become a better skier the farther down the hill you go. There is always potential for greatness, a deeper and more fulfilling expression of yourself as a human.
All that is required is your intention to change, and a bit of tenacity to forge a different a path.
You have every skill you need built into your DNA – they’re just waiting for the opportunity to activate.
